Windows XP SP2 "Limited or No Connectivity" Bug
Recently we've run noticed a bug on some Windows XP systems that have Service Pack 2 installed. The bug causes the computer to not be able to acquire an IP address via DHCP. In systems with static IP addresses, ping packets get through, but full network connectivity is not available. The error message this bug generates is:"This connection has limited or no connectivity. You might not be able to access the Internet or some network resources."
A description of the bug and a fix are available at PCHell.com:

The bug is listed in Microsoft's Knowledge Base as well: KB884020
