AppleJack: Mac Troubleshooting Tool
Recently I've found a pretty useful tool for troubleshooting Macs running Mac OS X. AppleJack is a shell script that lets the user run some basic maintenance programs in OS X's single user mode. AppleJack lets you run tasks such as Disk Repair and Fix Permissions without booting from a CD or another boot drive.Several Mac sites have already reviewed AppleJack and most have good things to say about it:
