Mac OS X v10.3.9 Java Issue
The latest Mac OS X update 10.3.9 causes Java to break on some systems. Typing the following in Terminal will show you if you are affected:java -version
If you get a 'segementation fault' then you need to (re)apply one or two Security Updates. Details can be found at Apple:
